Topless Shoes

An interesting concept from designers Zhao Xiaoliang, Han Like, Liu Peng, Meng Qingbao, Ren Mingjun, Yang Xiao, Chen Xuan, Lin Lin...if I forgot anyone, i apologize!

The actual material upper has been totally removed, with no bindings or any type of construction for that matter, the elastic layer at the top known as "muscle" encompasses your foot.

Not sure about the practicality, but it's certainly a great new way of thinking about footwear. Would love to see these in action!

Topless Shoes is a 2011 red dot concept design winner.
