The Nissyoku Lamp, designed by Peter Tononyi, has gotten quite a bit of recognition since its inception over two years ago. Grabbing 1st place in the Koizumi International Lighting Design Competition (2010) and the Hungarian Design Award (2011), it definitely deserves it. With a plan to come out on the market around 2012 Christmas time, I think I'm going to have to start planning my future kitchen or living room around this one product. Its just that damn sexy.
Having drawn some inspiration from the process of a solar eclipse, there is no way this could have been executed any better. The design is simple, elegant, clever, and simply functional.
