This makes me so happy. Its a strange thing to be part of a community like designers are. I've only been to Detroit a few times, and never for design.  But like most 20 somethings  I grew up hearing how it was the capital of American manufacturing. And for some reason, even though I grew up on the east coast, I cherish that. And this makes me happy for Detroit. 

Even more so, I'm happy for the kids and young adults that will have the opportunity the study design in a place that has so much creative history. And to be surrounded with so many people that want nothing more than to champion and incubate the design process. It's a truly special thing.
